THE NEW GENERATION OF IT GIRLS

Who are the style royals and the modern aristocrats that are ruling the fashion stage in 2016? Who are the true modern fashionistas that have earned (rightfully so!) their cult status with grace and elegance? Who are the ones to watch when it comes to style inspiration? Here, the 2016 list of the women that are at the present shaping the way we see fashion.

Leonetta Fendi

Daughter of Fendi accessories designer Silvia Venturini Fendi and the little sister of Delfina Delettrez, Leonetta Luciano Fendi is not your typical fashion girl. Sure, she literally has fashion in her blood (when she was just a little girl growing up in Rome, she got her mother to design petite pink bags just for her) and rumor has it that Karl Lagerfeld himself sketched her portrait when she was born, but her interests are much broader than that. She loves microfinance, is a strong defender of women’s rights, and a part of United Nations aid team (last summer she travelled to Kenya for this). “Fashion is really fun, but once I saw this other side of the world, I wanted to help. I don’t think style and activism are mutually exclusive, on the contrary. The best thing would be to be able to mix both”, she said during an interview for W magazine.

Steal her style:

  1. Grenoble stretch cotton-blend mini skirt, Toteme, 265 euro
  2. Satin silk shirt, Haider Ackerman, 680 euro
  3. Tan-go patent leather pumps, Valentino, 580 euro
  4. Bag Bugs nylon and fur mini backpack, Fendi, 1600 euro

Aymeline Valade

The French model turned actress has one of the most memorable off-duty styles in recent years. And her red carpet appearances are the stuff of dreams also. Need we remind you of the extraordinary way she pulled that menswear-inspired Saint Laurent tuxedo at the Cannes Film Festival last year? She’s buddies with Karl Lagerfeld – her first acting gig was in short movie directed by the famous designer – and in 2014 she played the role of YSL muse Betty Catroux in the movie Saint Laurent. Keep your eye on her because she’s destined for even greater fashion adventures.

Steal her style:

  1. Howden knitted turtleneck sweater, J.Crew, 300 euro
  2. Aggie knitted skirt, Calvin Klein Collection, 785 euro
  3. White small python effect monogramme chain bag, Saint Laurent, 1808 euro
  4. Intrecciato leather slides, Bottega Veneta, 450 euro

Bella Hadid

The edgier sister of super star model Gigi Hadid, Bella has really stepped out this year, showing no signs of slowing down. While she is studying photography at Parsons, Bella is present on almost the same runways as her sister, proving that she’s also the lucky recipient of those good genes. The difference between the two is that, while Gigi is the ultimate party girl, Bella is the brainiac. The more silent and more creative one – especially when it comes to styling her outfits – who are always edgy and cool, casual and urban, yet looking so effortlessly put together and flowing perfectly from head to toe.

Steal her style:

  1. Agnes floral-print stretch crepe wrap effect dress, Stella McCartney, 1045 euro
  2. Tribute metallic textured leather platform sandals, Saint Laurent, 795 euro
  3. Metallic matelassé leather wallet, Miu Miu, 938 euro

Tali Lennox

Daughter of the legendary singer Annie Lennox (who has won more Brit Awards than any other female artist), Tali is both a successful model and a talented painter. As for her style, she has a very miss-matched vintage and feminine grunge take on clothes – her style icon is Italian actress and fashion designer Anita Pallenberg. From printed dresses, daring blouses and experimental headpieces – she sure knows how to put an outfit together. With her rock’n’roll pedigree, which combines toughness and femininity, and her enviably long limbs and full lips, Tali is a girl to watch in the following period.

Steal her style:

  1. Ruffled cotton-crepon blouse, Chloe, 810 euro
  2. Striped duchesse silk-satin wide-leg pants, Monse, 2145 euro
  3. Suki Gem embellished mirrored leather sandals, Sophia Webster, 535 euro

Malaika Firth

Kenyan-born and London-bred, Malaika is the first black model since Naomi Campbell to star in a Prada campaign. But this isn’t the only reason she got our attention. She has worked for many major fashion labels including Burberry, Valentino and Louis Vuitton and she has been featured in countless magazines. Her style is quirky and feminine and she’s a major street style star every time she makes an appearance on the streets during all fashion weeks.

Steal her style:

  1. Cutout pinstriped linen-paneled jacquard dress, 3.1 Phillip Lim, 785 euro
  2. Jane 110 snake print sandal, Saint Laurent, 710 euro
  3. Candy printed acrylic and suede clutch, Jimmy Choo, 828 euro

Priyanka Chopra

This Indian beauty and new Baywatch actress has begun her US takeover and we’re delighted to see her exotic features everywhere. A super successful singer, producer, columnist, philanthropist (she is using her international fame to speak out on women’s issues like genital mutilation, child marriage and infanticide) and winner of the Miss World Pageant back in 2000, she is a force of nature. Her sartorial red carpet style is elegant and well thought of, while her off-duty options are always appropriate, yet highly elevated than what we would normally see.

Steal her style:

  1. Dhalia PVC flower dress, Rocksanda, 3470 euro
  2. D’Orsay suede pumps, Tom Ford, 590 euro
